Happy New Year From NAIFA!

Dear friends,

I hope every member of our NAIFA family has enjoyed a wonderful holiday season, and I, along with my colleagues, family and the entire NAIFA staff, wish you a happy, healthy and successful 2016.
The past year has been an eventful one for NAIFA.
  • We launched a pilot membership program based on an idea presented by NAIFA-New York that encouraged several thousand advisors in participating states to become first-time NAIFA members.
  • We hosted a successful annual career conference in New Orleans.
  • We brought together more than 800 advisors in Washington, D.C., for our 2015 Congressional Conference grassroots lobbying event to explain to our legislators how laws and regulations coming out of D.C. can impact our businesses and clients.
  • NAIFA’s IFAPAC emerged as the twelfth largest political action committee in the country and the largest in the insurance category.
  • We brought on a new CEO, Kevin Mayeux, CAE, who has a strong vision for NAIFA’s future and is dedicated to bolstering NAIFA’s value to members and ensuring that NAIFA remains force within our industry.
As we enter 2016, I am dedicated along with Kevin and your Board of Trustees, to finalizing and implementing our five-year strategic plan called NAIFA 20/20. In an ongoing process, the NAIFA 20/20 Task Force has been working since November to determine a new direction for NAIFA that will put us on a path to continued success and sustainability. A draft of the plan is online. We are revising the plan based on input from NAIFA members and will issue the final NAIFA 20/20 plan early this year.

NAIFA 20/20 will provide a road map to guide us as we rebuild and reengineer our Association with a renewed sense of purpose and a passion for possibility. We look forward to a meaningful dialogue on our long-term sustainability.

I foresee great success at NAIFA in 2016, as we build upon our long-established prestige and influence, continue to advocate for positive legislative and regulatory outcomes, and create a nimble strategy to serve the changing needs of our members over the long term.

Thank you for supporting NAIFA through your membership. It is truly an honor for me to serve as your president. As NAIFA members, you are dedicated to protecting the interests of your clients and giving them long-term hope and security. Your service is what inspires NAIFA to put forth our best effort on your behalf. I’m looking forward to a great year in 2016!
