Update: U.S. Senate Advances NARAB with Reauthorization of Terrorism Risk Insurance Program

Action Taken: The Senate today approved S.2244 to extend the Terrorism Risk Insurance program for seven years. It would increase the copayment for private insurers, and decrease the percentage of company losses that the government would cover. Specifically, it would increase to 20 percent (from 15 percent) the portion of premiums that insurers would have to pay as a co-share amount, and decrease to 80 percent (from 85 percent) the percentage of company losses the federal government will cov...
