  • States establish task forces to consider new bylaws, revisions to their board structure and strategize how they will support local affiliates
  • Locals that will become affiliates work on merger and dissolution process
  • Locals with approximately 100 or more members assess whether they will become a chapter or an affiliate

June 2018
  • June 12:  Survey sent to state and large local chapters to assess intentions of large locals to become either chapters or affiliates
  • June 22:  Survey reminder 
  • June 30:  Locals with approximately 100 members and states respond to survey about local chapter intentions

July 2018
  • July 2:  Follow-up with states and locals regarding structure
  • July 11:  Handbook for Implementation available on
  • July 23, 2 p.m.-3 p.m. ET:  Live webinar and Q&A on implementation (Register)
  • July 23:  Outreach begins to locals who have expressed interest in becoming chapters 

August 2018
  • Second webinar on implementation (if needed)

September 2018
  • P+P Conference: Presidents meeting (to include chapter Presidents), with focus on implementation and plans to deliver new member experience 
  • P+P: Task Force meets with interested chapters to discuss implementation
  • September 24: Local chapter agreement applications due to National
  • September 25: Follow-up with locals with interest in becoming a chapter but have not formalized through paperwork

October 2018
  • October 19: NAIFA to review local chapter agreements
  • October 30: Deadline for states to sign chapter agreement
  • October 30: Merger and dissolution paperwork due for locals that are to become affiliates 

November 2018
  • Early November: Follow-up with states and locals regarding paperwork on dissolution and merger 
  • November 14: NAIFA National and respective states to sign local chapter agreements
  • November 14: NAIFA National to approve all local mergers and dissolutions

December 2018
  • December 31: Board approves all remaining mergers and dissolutions via email vote

January 2019
  • Implementation Complete
