November 4 , 2008 (FALLS CHURCH, VA) —NAIFA Senior Vice President of State Government Relations, Bill Anderson, was elected Vice President of the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) at a recently concluded NIPR Board meeting.

Anderson has represented NAIFA on the NIPR Board since its inception 12 years ago and was instrumental in increasing producer representation on the Board from one to three seats a number of years ago. He has been continuously active on the Board having chaired its Audit Committee in the past and is looking forward to his new responsibilities as Vice President. He is only the third individual to serve in this role in NIPR’s 12-year history.

“It’s critical that NAIFA – as a leading voice of the agent community – be represented on the NIPR Board to assist and guide NIPR as it continues to develop the premier electronic licensing system for NAIFA members and other insurance producers,” said NAIFA President, Cliff F. Wilson, CLU, ChFC, LUTCF. “We are proud that Bill has been elected to this prestigious position.”

NIPR’s mission is to be the premier public-private partnership supporting the work of the states and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) in reengineering, streamlining and making uniform the insurance producer licensing process for the benefit of regulators, the insurance industry, and consumers. NAIFA members can electronically and quickly receive non-resident producer licenses in almost all states by going on www.nipr.com or through NAIFA’s website.
