January 14, 2008 (Falls Church, VA) – The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), the country’s largest financial services membership organization, today announced that it has hired Lee Allen as Vice President of Communications and Marketing. In this role, Allen will provide the strategic leadership, guidance and execution of the overall communications and marketing functions as called for in NAIFA 21, the association’s strategic plan.
With more than 17 years of experience in strategic communications, marketing, public relations and advocacy leadership, Allen has a solid track record of success in developing integrated communications programs and focused campaigns that have dramatically enhanced market positioning, brand recognition and public awareness. Prior to joining NAIFA, Allen served as Vice President of Communications and Policy for the National Council For Adoption, where he provided strategic leadership and directed a $20 million, three-year, federally funded public awareness initiative. Previously, he spent more than 12 years in leadership roles at two Fortune 500 information technology corporations, leading communications efforts within complex and diverse environments.
John J. Healy, CAE, NAIFA CEO, reiterates that communications and marketing are critical and highly visible elements to the organization’s go forward strategy and to the NAIFA 21 strategic plan. “Allen’s experience, innovation, and energy made him the best choice for the position.”
"In NAIFA 21, we have committed ourselves to helping our members succeed and prosper in the continuously changing marketplace," Healy said. "NAIFA is further establishing its unique position to provide the support our members need, and Lee will play a key role in our continuing transformation. The financial and insurance advisors we serve demand leadership from professionals with both an eye for the ‘big picture’ and the ability to execute. In Lee, we’re confident we’ve found both."
Allen said he is pleased to join Team NAIFA. “NAIFA has outstanding leadership and a truly exceptional membership base, as well as an aggressive commitment to better serve the needs of its members. Most importantly, the NAIFA 21 plan emphasizes increased value to members through powerful communications, marketing, and public affairs.”
Effective immediately, Lee Allen can be reached directly at 703-770-8112, or via email at leeallen@naifa.org.
