From the conflict in the Middle East, a NAIFA member is glad to have support from his association back home.

Greetings to all from sunny Iraq. I just wanted to say hi and I hope I find everyone in good will. I am still enjoying my tour of duty here.  I have a staff of civilians as well as military personnel. I do miss the committees and all of the interesting work that is done for our Association.  I guess you guys are gearing up for the Annual Convention.  Keep the Association going.  You do make it happen.

I would like to share with you a couple of good days I have had while I am here.  I received two different packages on separate days.  That really makes a soldier happy.  The first came from Samantha Blodgett, who is the director of member benefits at NAIFA.  She sent me a care package of two EduCalls and several of our Advisor Today magazines. I have enjoyed every bit of the info on all of the mediums.  On a separate reception, I received a signed banner from NAIFA Mississippi where I proudly say I was the past president as well as president of the year during my reign in MS. (The good ole' days).  This was done by my distinguished state director, Betty Cammack.  I have attached a picture that I hope some day ends up in our Advisor Today

People ask why be a NAIFA member and I will gladly tell them of the benefits, but no benefit is better than being made to feel right at home in a hostile environment far away from home.  It is good to know my NAIFA association supports me when I need them most.  I proudly display my banner in my office and when someone asks, I gladly tell them who I represent and how they are representing me.  It really feels good to tell a good story of good people.

I wish I could be at this year’s convention, but the travel is rough.  With my banner and other NAIFA material in my office, I feel I am there everyday.

Thanks for what you are doing and please take care of your customers. They are the reason we do what we do.”
