Trustee Candidates
Kenneth R. Evans, CLU, ChFC, LUTCF, CFP, AEP
Murray, Utah
Ken is State National Committee Person for Utah, and past president of NAIFA Utah, NAIFA Salt Lake, the Utah Chapter of Society of FSP, and the Salt Lake Estate Planning Council. He spent over twenty years as NAIFA Utah law and legislation chair or co-chair. Ken’s a LILI graduate and a four-time moderator. He was given the “Life Achievement Award” by NAIFA Utah and Utah Society of FSP. Ken chaired the local host committee for the 2001 Convention in Salt Lake, and arranged for the Tabernacle Choir performance the night of September 11. He served on the national convention committee, and is currently on the Associations Committee. His 30-year career has been with Principal Financial Group, with a practice emphasis on retirement and estate planning. Active in civic and church activities, he has been married to Velma for 34 years (four children).
Keith M. Gillies, CLU, ChFC, CFP
La Place, Louisiana
Keith Gillies is the Managing General Partner of River Parishes Advisors Group, LLC, a LaPlace, Louisiana based financial consulting firm. He is an honor graduate of Tulane University (MBA) and of the University of New Orleans (BA). He is a CFP, CLU and ChFC designee. Keith is past-president of NAIFA-Greater New Orleans (Member of the Year, 1998 and NAIFA- Louisiana (2007 Arthur Abramson Member of the Year). Keith is a leading representative of both UNIFI and Ameritas Investment Corp., where he serves on the Field Advisory Cabinet and as Chair of the Broker-Dealer Task Force. He is a Court of the Table member of the Million Dollar Round Table. Keith is very active in his community, serving and volunteering on many civic and religious boards, including the Insurance Commissioner’s Select Agent Advisory Board. Keith is married and has three children.
Roger S. McCullough, CLU
Fort Dodge, Iowa
Roger S. McCullough, CLU earned a Bachelor of Science degree in telecommunications and journalism from Iowa State University, and has been associated with AXA Equitable since 1971.
A NAIFA member since 1973, he has held all local and state chairs, and is currently serving as state national committeeman and NAIFA National Trustee. He received the NAIFA Iowa Agent of the Year Award in 2001. Nationally Roger has chaired the Member Benefits and Communications Committees, and has served on the Community Service Committee and the Transformation Task Force.
A qualifying member of MDRT, he is also an IFAPAC Diplomat and a charter member of AHIA.
On a local level he is involved in many civic and community activities, and takes an active role in church leadership. For the past few years he has participated in the Des Moines Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa.
He and his wife, Ruth, live in Fort Dodge, Iowa and have two married sons.
Juli McNeely, LUTCF, CFP, CLU
Spencer, Wisconsin
Juli is a qualifying member of MDRT and a contributing author to Advisor Today’s Back Page. She served as President of NAIFA Wisconsin in 2007/08 and is a member of NAIFA Central Wisconsin where she served as President in 2003/04.
Juli served NAIFA as an appointed national trustee in 2002/03. She has served as Chair of the national Committee on Associations for two years, served as national YAT Chair and as a member of both the national LILI Committee and the Member Benefits Committee.
Juli obtained Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Northwestern College in Roseville, MN. She holds the Series 7 and 63 securities licenses. In 1996, Juli joined McNeely Financial Services, a 40+ year old independent agency founded by her father and serves as the Vice President. She is active in her church and her community, traveling internationally for mission work.
Russell A. Smith, CLU, ChFC
Canyon Lake, California
Russell A. Smith, CLU, ChFC entered the financial services industry in 1982 as a career agent with The Bankers Life. He quickly earned Top Club honors every year.
In 1984 he accepted a management position with a national marketing firm specializing in insurance products marketed through financial institutions.
In 1991 he re-entered private practice as a General Agent for several companies. His practice places emphasis on planning for seniors. A Life & Qualifying member of MDRT, he is a current Top of the Table member.
Russ served as President of NAIFA-Inland Empire as well as President of NAIFA-California. He served on the NAIFA membership committee and was National Chair in 2004-2005. He was the Chair of NAIFA’s Government Relations Committee in 2005-2006 and is currently on the NAIFA Board of Trustees, and is seeking re-election. He is a Capitol Club contributor to IFAPAC and a member of AALU and SFSP.
Russ resides in Canyon Lake, CA. He and his wife Pam have four children ages 12 thru 27.
Secretary Candidate
Terry K. Headley, LUTCF, LIC, FSS
LaVista, Nebraska
Terry K. Headley entered the Insurance Business in January 1973 at age 19, and is the youngest Agent ever inducted into the Principal Financial Group’s Hall of Fame. He is a Qualifying and Life Member of MDRT and consistent Court of the Table Qualifier.
He has held every office in NAIFA-Omaha and NAIFA-Nebraska State. Mr. Headley was inducted into the NAIFA-Omaha Hall of Fame and has received the NAIFA-Nebraska Distinguished Service Award. He served 3 years each as the Chair of the NAIFA Committee on Public Relations, Member of NAIFA Committee on Governance, and the Chair of the National IFAPAC SubCommittee. He also chaired the NAIFA21 Advocacy Task Force.
He was first elected to the NAIFA Board of Trustees in 2004 and re-elected in 2006. Additionally, he was the first Capitol Club IFAPAC Contributor ($5,000/Annual) and is currently the largest IFAPAC Contributor in the history of the NAIFA Federation.
