NAIFA Convention Events
YAT Thrives at the 2007 Convention
The Young Advisors Team (YAT) hosted another series of successful events at the 2007 Annual Convention and Career Conference held in Washington, D.C. With YAT attendance up by 52% over the previous year, the YAT events were a popular destination. Some of the highlights included:
The Four Under Forty Panel
The 2007 recipients of Advisor Today’s Four Under Forty Award participated in a panel discussion with audience members. Paul Adams, Steven Bohr, Michael Lynch and Bryan Nakamoto were presented with their plaques by 2006-2007 NAIFA President John Davidson and then shared their experiences in the financial services industry.
The Money Code presented by Dan Allison
This YAT sponsored educational workshop shed some light on focus groups and how they can build a better business. NAIFA-Omaha member Dan Allison demonstrated how his background in behavioral psychology helped him in his financial and real estate business and shared some tips on using focus groups to improve your business.
YAT Roundtable
YATs from all over the country participated in this Roundtable discussion on topics ranging from local YAT groups to the affect of NAIFA 21. Members were able to share their experiences in building a successful YAT group and gain new ideas from other YATs in their discussion groups. Participants will be able to continue the knowledge sharing via a listserv throughout the year.
In addition to the above activities, a Meet and Greet kicked off the Convention and gave YATs a chance to meet each other. The annual Happy Hour was held at local hotspot, Gazuza, and was a fun way to network with other YATs all across the country.
YATPAC, the initiative launched at the 2006 Annual Convention and Career Conference, had another successful year raising funds for the PAC. Surpassing its goal of $10,000, YATPAC worked in conjunction with IFAPAC to highlight the importance of advocacy, especially among those 40 and under and those new to the industry.
