There are a variety of new additions and changes to the 2009 NAIFA Convention and Career Conference Program. These brilliant new ideas are the result of listening to past attendees, NAIFA members and advisors like you.
You wanted more educational workshops, so we have more than doubled the number of available sessions. You told us networking is one of the most important benefits of the conference, so we added tabletop networking discussions to the program. You understand how important the Convention is for the governance and leadership of your association, but you also wanted more value for the attendee who is not a National Council Delegate. Our program includes separate General Sessions and National Council Sessions to provide more flexibility and opportunities in your conference schedule.
You want programming that speaks directly to your interests and needs. That is why there are workshops specifically of interest to advisors who specialize in life and annuities sales, health and employee benefits, multiline, financial advising and investments as well as programming tracks of interest to young advisors and managers/GAMA members. There are sales and prospecting sessions, practice management sessions and leadership sessions. And, there is programming focused on association issues, particularly NAIFA’s vital legislative and advocacy efforts. And, there is dedicated programming for association executives.
Many of you wish you could have attended previous conventions but could not afford the time to attend the whole event. For you, we have added a new one-day registration option. One-day registrations are available for Sunday, Monday or Tuesday of the Convention and Career Conference. If you can’t make it for the full Convention and Career Conference, you can still take advantage of one-day’s worth of General Sessions, educational workshops, networking sessions, the NAIFA Expo and more.
Combine the manager specific workshops on Sunday afternoon with the Opening General Session featuring Ronan Tynan and the NAIFA Expo to make one great day. Add a ticket to the 14th Annual realLIFEstories Gala Award Banquet to cap off your evening
The AHIA Annual Meeting and Luncheon plus health and employee benefits focused workshops on Tuesday make it the day for you. Open your morning at the Sunday General Session featuring Time Magazine’s Michael Duffy with a View from Washington, DC and leadership expert Lance Secretan. And finish your evening at the John Newton Russell Memorial Award Dinner and Show.
Start at the morning General Session featuring leadership expert Lance Secretan and then attend both the LILI 7 Workshop and the LILI Alumni reception on Tuesday afternoon to have a jam-packed leadership day! Cap off your evening at the premier event of the convention… the John Newton Russell Memorial Award Dinner and Show.
The Tuesday General Session features Time Magazine’s Michael Duffy with a view from Washington, DC. The afternoon educational workshops feature two NAIFA advocacy sessions to help you be a more effective member of NAIFA’s grassroots leadership. Conclude your evening at the premier event of the convention… the John Newton Russell Memorial Award Dinner and Show.
