Q: Where is the convention being held?

A: The 2009 NAIFA Annual Convention and Career Conference (including registration and credentials areas, NAIFA EXPO, general sessions, and educational workshops) will be held at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort and Convention Center, 8701 World Center Drive, Orlando, FL 32821. 

The Orlando World Center Marriott Resort and Convention Center is the headquarters hotel. The candidates' suites and the Board of Trustees will be housed in this hotel.  In addition, the Opening Night Reception, New England Forum Bisque Reception, realLIFEstories Banquet, and the John Newton Russell Dinner will take place at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort and Convention Center.

Q: What hotels offers discounted rates for the convention?

A:NAIFA’s headquarter hotel is the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort and Convention Center located at 8701 World Center Drive, Orlando, FL 32821.  NAIFA has reserved a block of rooms with a discounted convention rate of $199 per nite plus tax for a single and double occupancy standard room.  To receive the discounted group rate, please mention group code NTI when making your reservation by phoneWhen reserving a room online at www.marriottworldcenter.com, please be sure to use group code NTINTIA.

Q: How do I reserve my hotel for the convention?

A:You can reserve your room by either calling the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort reservations at 1-800-564-3181 or visiting their website at www.marriottworldcenter.com

The cut off to receive the discounted NIAFA hotel rate is August 10, 2009, however, please note that hotel rooms at this resort are in great demand and we expect the hotel to sell out prior to this date. Be sure to make your reservations early.  Please confirm your hotel reservation is with the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort and Convention Center.

Q: When will I receive my convention registration confirmations?

A:Convention registration confirmation packets will be mailed 2-3 weeks after receipt of paid registration form.  To ensure accuracy, please review the information carefully. 

Q: What do I do if my confirmation letter shows a balance due?

A:Prior to August 10, remit payment to NAIFA.  After August 10, bring payment to the Registration Counter at Orlando World Center Marriott.  If you feel your balance due is an error, contact NAIFA immediately at 877-866-2432.

Q: How can I get discounted car rentals for the convention?

A:Enterprise and Hertz offer special discounted rates to all NAIFA attendees.  Receive your NAIFA discount when you make your car rental reservations online with ATC at www.atcmeetings.com/naifa and click on “create an account” to get started, or log in and click “rental cars” or call ATC toll free at 800-755-3899 between 9:00 am and 7:30 pm (ET), Monday through Friday.  You may also make your reservations directly with Hertz or Enterprise.  Go online to www.hertz.com or call Hertz directly at 800-654-2240.  Call Enterprise at 800-593-0505.  Be sure to refer to the following discount numbers when making your reservation directly with Hertz or Enterprise:

Q: How do I register for the convention if I am an Exhibitor?

A: Each exhibiting company is entitled to two registrations per 10’x10’ booth.  The exhibitor registration form will be included in your Exhibitor Kit.  Please remember that all exhibit personnel must register.  Additional Exhibitor registrations are provided at a reduced cost of $250 per person.  If you have any questions, please call John Boyle at 703-770-8267.

Q: Who is considered a spouse/guest?

A: A spouse/guest is someone who is NOT in the insurance/financial services business.  Anyone attending the convention that is in the insurance/financial services business must pay the full convention registration fee.

Q: What is the definition of an “extra executive?”

A:NAIFA’s complimentary policy provides for one free registration per state and local association to be used for paid personnel (staff). If more than one staff person wants to attend the convention, the second person is considered and "extra executive" and must pay the $250 registration fee.

Q: Can you purchase tickets for events on site? If so, where?

A:Tickets can be purchased onsite as long as seats in the functions are still available. The cost of the ticket is the same on site as it is during pre-convention registration. There will be a "ticket sales" booth located in the registration area at the Orlando World Center Marriott.  Tickets cannot be purchased at the event itself.   Please note tickets cannot be purchased unless you are a paying registrant or guest.

Q: Can spouses/guests attend the convention, and what do they get for their registration fee?

A: Yes, spouses/guests can attend the convention. When they pay the registration fee, they are entitled to attend all convention events including the Opening Night Reception, NAIFA EXPO, General Sessions, all Workshops, and the Guest/Spouse Luncheon.

Q: Can attendees attend the Guest/Spouse Luncheon?  Is there an additional cost/ticket purchase?

A:Yes, and yes. Attendees can attend the Guest/Spouse Luncheon with or without a guest/spouse.  The attendee would need to purchase an additional Luncheon ticket at the Ticket Sales booth located in the registration area of the hotel.  The cost is $50.00.

Q: How do I reserve a suite?

Q: How can I get discounted airfares for travel to and from the convention?

A: Association Travel Concepts (ATC) is NAIFA's official travel agency for the 2009 NAIFA Annual Convention and Career Conference. Contact ATC to take advantage of special discounted rates on airfare. Make your reservations online at www.atcmeetings.com/naifa or call ATC toll free at (800) 755-3899 between 9:00 am and 7:30 pm (ET), Monday through Friday.  Please note online reservations are subject to a $10 service fee per reservation and phone in reservations are subject to a $35 service fee per reservation.

Q: May I purchase discount attraction tickets online?

Save time and money by purchasing tickets through our online ticket sales center at orlandoinfo.com/tickets.  NAIFA has also arranged special convention tickets (please see below.)   

Q: May I purchase discount tickets to the Disney theme parks? 

A:Yes, NAIFA has arranged for special convention tickets that are not available at the Theme Park gates, these unique multi-day and half-day tickets are available to NAIFA attendees, your guests/family members through our exclusive Advance Purchase ticket program with a huge savings on 2-, 3-, and 4-day tickets.  

These tickets allow you to easily extend combine your time in Orland for the NAIFA Convention and Career Conference into the personal or family vacation of a lifetime with the following benefits:

Q: Is there parking available?

A: Overnight self parking is $12.78 per night and self parking for day guests is $12.00 per day. Valet parking is also available for $20.00 per day for day guests or $21.30 per day for overnight guests. These parking rates are inclusive of tax.
