Stephen Covey and NAIFA 2010: Getting Down to Business

NAIFA 2010 Conference Dr. Stephen R. Covey has dedicated his life to demonstrating how every person can truly control their destiny. Millions of people from all over the world have benefited from his life-changing ideas and guidance. Many NAIFA members are among those impacted by Covey’s concepts, and attendees to the NAIFA 2010 Career Conference and Annual Meeting, September 11-14 in Seattle will have multiple opportunities to hear from Covey in person.

Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People was named the #1 most influential business book for the 20th century. His numerous titles have sold more than 20 million copies. He was named one of Time magazine’s 25 Most Influential Americans. And now he is a keynote presenter for two sessions during the NAIFA 2010 Conference.

The John Newton Russell Memorial Award is the most prestigious honor in the insurance and financial services industry. In an exciting development for all registrants to NAIFA 2010, the John Newton Russell Memorial Award will be presented at a Tuesday morning brunch that is complimentary to all conference registrants. And as the John Newton Russell Memorial Award honors the leaders and giants who have given so much to our industry, there is no more complementary message than Dr. Covey’s concepts of principle-centered living and leadership.

“The John Newton Russell Memorial Award is the highest honor in our industry,” says Terry Headley, NAIFA President-Elect and 2010 Conference Committee Chair. “Every NAIFA member should be a part of this important event. And, everyone should take advantage of this opportunity to hear Dr. Covey live.”

“For many people, the words and ideas of Dr. Covey have changed their lives,” continued Headley. “This is an amazing opportunity for all NAIFA members to have not just one… but two… opportunities to learn directly from Dr. Covey.”

In addition to the John Newton Russell Memorial Award Brunch presentation, Covey also will lead the LILI 7 Seminar taking place Tuesday afternoon of the Conference. Traditionally, the LILI 7 Seminar has been open only to alumni and current students of NAIFA’s Leadership in Life Institute (LILI). But in another exciting development for NAIFA 2010, registration for the LILI 7 Seminar has been opened to all NAIFA members. So whether you are a LILI alumnus or interested in finding out more about the LILI experience, this is your chance to attend a world-class leadership seminar.

Registration for the NAIFA 2010 Conference opens in March. Watch for the NAIFA 2010 Conference brochure in the March issue of NAIFA’s Advisor Today, and be ready to register when the online registration opens in mid-March at www.naifa.org/conference.
