Date: July 6, 2009 Urgent Action Required: WRITE your two U.S. Senators to oppose a public plan health insurance proposal and the exclusion of professional, licensed agents. ALERT your clients using this message – an editable sample client letter is available for their use as well. TWEET the President to oppose a new public health plan. (If you have a Twitter account, start your tweet with @whitehouse to post a mesasge.) Reason Action Is Urgently Needed: The Senate HELP Committee has under consideration this week a public plan health insurance reform proposal that is a major step toward single-pay, government-run health insurance. The proposal also eliminates the role for licensed professional insurance agents and requires employers to pay 60% of employee health insurance premiums or pay an annual assessment of $750 for each full-time employee not covered and $375 for each part-time employee not covered. Your immediate response to this threat is urgently needed, right now. Technical Assistance? If you have technical questions about using NAIFA’s Legislative Action Center, please contact Vicky Dobbin at 703-770-8113, or communications@naifa.org. |
